The dike broke and now Caledonia Marsh has completly flooded. Not only has the open Skillet Handle flooded but parts of the Running Y Ranch are underwater, including the golf course.

Klamath County Planning is going to conduct a public Compliance Review of the Running Y Ranch Resort on November 17, at 7:00 p.m. at the new Convention center at Running Y. They will be going through each of the 24 orders in the D.R.O. 1-94 [PDF] to determine whether the developers, the Jeld-Wen Company, have fulfilled their obligations regarding the land use decision.

The Jeld-Wen Co. is clearly not in compliance. We hope to see the members of the Planning Commission vote to enforce the requirement of recording non-development easements on open space. We also hope to see the Planning Commission do their job in securing surety bonds or performance agreements to ensure the constuction of recreational amenities that were indicated in the D.R.O. 1-94 [PDF] as key elements of the Destination Resort.
